Where does the data come from? +
Game data, scores, and statistics are provided by third-party data sources. Data updates on every pitch.
Do I need an account? +
No. TwentySeven works without sign-in. Your favorite team and preferences are stored locally on your device.
How do I enable Live Activities? +
Tap "Track on Lock Screen" from any game-starting push, or open a game and use the share menu. Requires iOS 17 or later. Dynamic Island available on iPhone 14 Pro and newer.
Why am I not getting notifications? +
Make sure notifications are enabled for TwentySeven in iOS Settings → Notifications → TwentySeven. Then in the app, set a favorite team — most alerts are tied to your team.
Is TwentySeven affiliated with MLB? +
No. TwentySeven uses publicly available MLB data but is independent. MLB, team names, and team logos are trademarks of their respective owners.
About the Stats
What's a 'high-leverage' play? +
Leverage measures how much the win probability of a game hangs on the next play. Late innings, close score, runners on base → high leverage. A blowout in the fifth → low leverage. The 'Top Moments' panel surfaces the highest-leverage plays of any game.
What is win probability based on? +
A baseball-specific model that takes the score, inning, base-runners, outs, and historical context to estimate each team's chances of winning at any moment. Updates after every pitch.
What does "Player Impact" actually measure? +
Each batter is ranked by their cumulative effect on the game's outcome — specifically, the sum of win-probability changes they caused with each plate appearance. Hitters who came up big in high-leverage spots rank higher than hitters who padded a blowout.
